The news is out today. After announcing a strategic association with the Sahara India Parivar a week or so ago, the now re-named Sahara Force India team announced a tie-up with the King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan and his upcoming movie Ra.One. This association will be a one-race association for the Indian Grand Prix.
Movie associations aren’t new in Formula1 and Red Bull Racing have famously associated with Superman Returns and Star Wars in the past. This movie association should go a long in way in promoting both brands in different territories. This association is also a first for a Bollywood movie to be associated with Formula1.
Shah Rukh Khan isn’t new to Formula1 or Sahara Force India. He has visited many Grand Prixs in the past and has been promoting the Sahara Force India team via a TVC since the team’s launch in 2008. We shall also see the King Khan ‘raise the flag‘ for the Sahara Force India team at the Indian Grand Prix! Have you?
4 comments On Shah Rukh Khan And Ra One To Power Sahara Force India At The Indian Grand Prix
I know I know, i’m too late for this article, still I’m not going to mince my word.
Sharukh khan, seriously????? I’m a fan of Sharukh but still.
And sorry but i have to say this – “Ra.One cannot power anything” , I ran out of theater watching that movie literally 🙂
I remember an interview last year or before that(may be) – he said he is a fan of Jenson Button and do you know why – because he is witty. I don’t think he follows the game.
Aishwarya Rai or Deepika Padukone endorsing or powering(in this case) a beauty soap brand makes perfect sense because they are beautiful & they know everything about beauty. I don’t think Sharukh knows the game or may be he just likes the idea of every sport, not sure though!
You know, when I met SRK at the Indian GP in the motorhome, he was considering investing into the i1 Super Series and he asked me all the right questions with respect to the business of Formula1. Weeks later, he did publicly announce his interest in the Mumbai league of the team. While the league didn’t take off, SRK’s interest in the sport does seem very high.
You have a strong point, so I will take back the comment on SRK.
But i’m still very firm on my Ra.One comment.
That was torture to say the least 😉
In fact SRK himself made fun of Ra.one in every Award ceremony he hosted in that year 😉
Well, I ain’t a BIG SRK fan! And I didn’t watch Ra.One! But enjoyed interacting with him at the GP. Is a smart fella!
